3 Tools ALL Real Estate Investors Need

By Doc Schmyz

One of the most common bits of information the Real estate investors always ask each other is "What tricks of the trade or inside tidbits can you share with me??" I always answer this question with a question..."What tools do you have in your investment toolbox?"

Now before you go nuts scratching your head, let me define the areas of the tool box. The tool box has three areas.

1)In your head tool box: This is all about how your thinking process works when it comes to investing, and more importantly how open minded you are about investing information. Are you willing to think outside the box in order to look at investment opportunities or must the investment fall within a cookie cutter method you having? In your head means you need to read books, articles, partake in discussions, and basically interact with that big grey hunk of goo that is in your skull.

It is the resaults of the information you have taken in about investing.

IMPORTANT ELEMENT. While we all know that a zillion books have been written about investing. It is important to understand that you MUST have some knowledge from that book...WHY? Because if you understand what other investors are reading?it actually makes it easier to work with them since you understand where they are getting their basic tactics and understanding from, that helps steer them to the investments THEY are making.

2) Online tool box: This is one of the most over looked elements...when I say over looked I am not referring to being not utilized...but more to the fact it is not utilized to its overall potential. For example do you have one site you go to more often than not for investment information? If so why? Your answer is most likely because they have the best info I can use. This maybe the answer however, a little side note to this. Most of us get some sort of tunnel vision thinking that one or even a few sites will cover us for all the info we want...but in all honesty we normally close down other avenues of "information input" when we do this. How do we get around the "Info input" shut down???

The answer is very easy it's called the opt in newsletter/update. Here is how it works.

Simply put you create an email address and when you come across a site you think may be a useful reference you join up for the newsletter they email out. They send it to your "Info email account" and you can go thru the emails as you choose. I must warn you however.

Once your on a email list I suggest allowing a few weeks before opting out of it. Just because it doesnt give you the "diamond in the rough" on the first email doesnt mean the newletter your getting is worthless. Newletters to look can originate from RE investment clubs, Blogs, News sites...etc

I avoid most of the "pop up" mailing lists for the simple fact that if the info they offer is any good?someone else is going to share it and it will cause enough of a buzz that you will hear about it. If that the case then go ahead and join it.

My favorite online tools/sites are the ones that cost me very little to use/buy or better yet are free to me. I love to find good resource sites. ( I admit freely I normally link them to my own) A good web tool is a great thing to find. Im not refering to another mortgage calculator...I mena that online tool your just dying to try out. When you find them...bookmark them.

3) And last but not least... actual physical, hold in your hand, tools. It can be a great "go by list". A solid flash light. anything that makes the time in the field looking at investments easier.

Thats about it. so go build your toolbox. pdate it often. Use it daily...and happy investing. - 23199

The Wall Street Mint Silver Bar - A Beautiful Way To Commemorate 9/11

By Christina Goldman

The Wall Street Mint Silver Bar is a beautiful .999 fine silver bar that was produced by the Wall Street Mint beginning in 2002 to commemorate the events of 9/11. These highly collectible, proof-like silver bars feature the skyline of New York City, with the twin World Trade Center Towers, as it appeared before 9/11. The Wall Street Mint Silver Bar is no longer being produced and are hard to find. They are obtainable in two sizes - 10 oz. and 100 oz.

Let's look at the advantages to owning both sizes:

100-oz silver bars

1. Convenient way to invest a large amount of wealth in silver bullion form

2. Uniform shape makes it simple to stack and store them in a safe deposit box

3. 6.86 pound weight makes them easy to handle

4. Highly liquid as this particular size is an accepted trading unit

Coincidentally - 100 ounce silver bars came about in the 1970's when inflation was soaring. Silver, a well-known inflation hedge, was highly sought after by investors as it was illegal to own gold bullion before December 31, 1974.

Small refiners started producing .999 fine silver products in order to meet the surging demand. Demand was so great by the mid-1970's that large refiners like Engelhard and Johnson-Matthey began to produce the 100-oz silver bars.

10-oz silver bars

1. The favorite size of most investors

2. Smaller unit of value makes them easier to trade for other services and goods

3. Flat, uniform shape makes for easy, neat storage

4. You don't need alot of money to invest

Because the Wall Street Mint Silver Bars are only available on the secondary market, they offer an investment opportunity with a great chance for future appreciation. Whether you invest in the 100 oz size or the 10 oz variety depends on your financial status and investment objectives. - 23199

Madoff Type Stock Scams Exposed!

By William R. Wiedow Ph.D.

It seems true to say, Barnard Madoff is the new Charles Ponzi. Investors put much faith in Madoff and considering the current state of things in the fanancial markets, it is a real shame that this man could betray so many good investors! At this point Madoff Type Stock Scams have really impacted countless people around the globe.

There is now a lost of 50 Billion Dollars because of Mr. Madoff who was at one time a highly respected chairman of The NASDAQ and wiz financier. He just admitted to administrating this ponzi stock scam of the century.

What a horrible financial lost this has been to Wallstreet and Mainstreet! So maybe in the future we will all be better investors. Because this has to be the mother of all text book lessons to learn from what not to do! We must try to completely avoid this type of scam in our remaining years as stock investors.

The ultimate con artist in world history is a one Mr. Charles Ponzi who invented The Ponzi Scheme in the early 20th century. Like Mr Madoff in the 21th century, Ponzi took all the profits from the top of his money pyramid and left little or nothing for the later investors at the bottom of the money pyramid. It is true that some investors did indeed make money with Ponzi and Madoff but most people did not make a penny.

Barnard Madoff's Empire like Charles Ponzi's Empire before him had a destiny of failure and an a appointment with the Big House. But at this point there is much to learn from these two scam artist, and we better take the time to learn because if we don't, guys like these could make all stock investors pennyless!

First of all, it is always important to diversify when investing. Madoff Type Stock Scams thrive on ignorant investors. Make sure to put your funds in a variety of investments. It is too risky to put every dollar of your financial assets into just one. Another tip is to avoid investments that look too good to be true.

Looking back on Madoff and his years of paper trail scaming, it seem impossible that anyone in their right mind could fall for this con artist! The stock market went up some years and Madoff made investors money and the stock market went down some years and Madoff made investors money? it's just a Fantastical Investor Fantasy! Not to say you can't make money in Bull and Bear markets, but it takes real investor savvy the kind that Madoff did not have one iota of. He just had the con artist savvy to relieve people of their money.

Madoff Type Stock Scams have taught us that we cannot rely on The SEC or regulators alone. "YOU ARE TAKING A RISK WHEN YOU INVEST" and should use your common sense and best judgment. Do not feel bad if you were taking-in by Madoff, he fooled large banks individual investors, savvy financial professionals and many others. But if you were a "Madoff Victim" here are a few places you can go to for help: bernardmadoffvictims.com & madoff-help.com

We all get taken for a ride sometimes. However, you can keep this from happening by making smarter financial decisions. Hedge Funds have a lot of risks associated with them. It is almost always better for individual investors to put their money in low-cost Mutual Funds, Bank CD's or Gold. It is less risky and easier to keep public information track of when it goes up or down. Of course in 2009 you may just want to leave your money in the bank! (c) 2009 William R. Wiedow Ph.D. - 23199

Money Management in Forex Trading (Part I)

By Ahmad Hassam

Many forex traders start trading live too soon. They dont have any understanding and learning of good money management rules. As a forex trader, you need to develop a few good money management rules. Practice them on your demo account before starting live trading. By developing your own money management rules you are comfortable with means how much of your money you are willing to risk on one single trade. You also need to determine how many contracts per trade your risk tolerance allows?

The important thing when you start trading is to learn how you can improve your investment results by making small changes and tweaks to your trading strategies. Good money management rules can make a huge difference between becoming a successful investor in the long run or an unsuccessful one that blows up the account in a few weeks.

Have you ever played poker or watched it being played online or on TV! If you have then you will never see good poker players play all their cards on a single bet. Good poker players know that by risking only a small amount of their money on a single bet, they can win or lose but will still play the next hand. If they put everything on the table on a single bet, they will have to be 100% sure of winning, an impossible thing. You can never be 100% sure. Life is the game of probabilities.

You must know that currency trading is far more complicated than playing poker. You will be dealing with hundreds and hundreds of unknown variables that affect the markets what to talk of only 52 cards. You must understand and implement good money management principles in order to succeed at forex trading.

Many pitfalls will cross your way while trading. As a trader you should be constantly aware of two emotions; greed and fear. In case you win a trade, you will become greedy and would want to risk more to make one big win. You would want to strike it rich in one or two trades. This will drive you to take more and more risk.

When you will lose a trade, you will become afraid risking your money on the next trade. Fear will take over. It will impair your decision making. It will make you lose confidence in your judgment and decision making. Lets see how fear and greed can affect your trading.

Lets suppose you have a run of successful trades that makes you very happy. You are feeling overconfident. You are not satisfied on risking only 2% of your account on one single trade and you want to risk more on the trade. You are thinking, the more you have in a trade, the more you will make if you are right. You are willing to increase your risk to 5%. You increase it to 5% and you win. You increase it further to 10% and you once again win. You finally decide to put 25% of your account at risk on the next big trade, but misfortune strikes all of a sudden. Your successful run comes to an end and you lose big.

Suppose you had a $100,000 account and you had foolishly risked 25% ($25,000) on one single big trade. You desperately wanted to win but lost. Losing $25,000 means you have only $75,000 in your trading account now after your loss. How much you need to make to get back the original account balance of $100,000; you need to make $25,000 again. It means you will have to make 25,000/75,000= 33% in order to get back to the original amount. You risked 25% but now you will need to make 33% to breakeven.

Many investors try to risk more to recover their original loss, ending up losing more and more. Eventually those investors destroy their accounts and are out of trading forever. There are other investors who try to reduce risk even further on making a loss. Eventually they divorce themselves from any opportunity for meaningful growth in their accounts. - 23199
